East Cornwall Hunt: monitoring & reporting

East Cornwall Hunt monitoring and reporting

Independent monitoring of hunt activity in East Cornwall. Report sightings, submit evidence of illegal hunting to police, or volunteer with East Cornwall Hunt Monitors.

Independent monitoring in East Cornwall

East Cornwall Hunt Monitors is a wildlife protection group. We are independent of the East Cornwall Hunt and are not a hunt membership or events service.

We monitor hunt activity, record evidence of illegal hunting and submit it to police. Our aim is to end the hunting of mammals with dogs. If you have seen hunt activity in East Cornwall, local information can help us understand where monitoring is needed.

Report a hunt sighting

Send us the date, time and location, along with a brief description of what you saw. For an incident happening now or immediate danger, call 999. For a non-emergency crime report, contact police on 101 or through their online reporting service.

Keep original photographs and video. Ask police how they want evidence submitted; do not rely on a social media post as a crime report.

What the law says

The Hunting Act 2004 makes hunting wild mammals with dogs an offence in England and Wales unless an exemption applies. Our law page explains the rules and links to reported convictions from around the country. Those cases are identified by hunt and defendant; they are not presented as convictions involving the East Cornwall Hunt.

Help monitor local hunts

We welcome people for field monitoring, driving, reviewing footage, administration and fundraising. You do not need previous experience, and there are ways to help if you cannot go out with the group.
