Cookies and browser storage

How this website uses browser storage and keeps analytics and advertising trackers off the site.

No analytics or advertising trackers

We do not use analytics, advertising cookies, tracking pixels or social media embeds. Fonts and photographs are served with the site. Links to Facebook and other organisations only take you to those services when you choose to follow them.

What the website stores

Public information pages do not set application cookies. Member sign-in uses strictly necessary Supabase authentication cookies (names beginning sb- and ending auth-token, sometimes split into numbered parts). These keep your account signed in and support two-factor verification. They are inaccessible to page scripts, use secure transport on the hosted site, and expire after eight hours without renewal. Signing out removes them. We do not store authentication tokens in local storage.

Your browser may cache public pages, images, fonts, scripts and requested map tiles. Private member responses are marked not to be cached. The public sighting form connects to OpenStreetMap automatically to display its map. Member maps connect when you select Load map.

Hosting and security

Vercel hosts this site. If its security systems challenge a request, they may use temporary browser storage to verify that the request is legitimate and allow access. A successful security check creates a browser session valid for one hour. This is for protecting the service, not analytics or advertising. See Vercel’s explanation of security checks.

Why there is no consent pop-up

There are no optional cookies to accept or reject on this website. UK rules allow storage that is strictly necessary to provide a requested service without cookie consent. We have provided this notice instead of asking you to accept tracking that we do not use.

You can remove stored website data through your browser settings. Blocking storage needed for a hosting security check may prevent that check from working.

Changes and questions

If we add features that use browser storage, we will update this notice and provide any choices required before using it. For information about contact details and hosting records, read our privacy notice. You can contact East Cornwall Hunt Monitors on Facebook with a question.
